Initiated in 1995, this program aims to produce graduates with a professional degree in Quantity Surveying to practice within but not limited to the construction industry both locally and internationally who can understand and apply knowledge effectively with a high awareness of culture and ethics. The Bachelor of Quantity Surveying has received accreditation from local and international bodies particularly the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), United Kingdom. As the Bachelor of Quantity Surveying syllabus received recognition from these professional bodies, this programme is professionally recognised locally and internationally. This recognition emphasizes the program's strong reputation, providing graduates with a wide range of employment opportunities within the region and beyond. The program consists of a 3 ½ year full-time study term. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying.
There is a high demand for qualified quantity surveyor professionals and diverse career opportunities in the construction and other sectors.
Upon completing their studies, graduates will be registered as Provisional Quantity Surveyors (PVQS) through the Bulk Registration Programme, a collaboration between Universiti Malaya and the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM). Once registered as PVQS and meeting the necessary requirements, graduates may apply for the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Tier 1. Upon fulfilling the APC Tier 1 requirements, they will be upgraded to Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS).

The Bachelor of Quantity Surveying is a full-time programme with a total credit requirement of 126 credit hours, within a minimum period of 7+1 semesters and a maximum of 11 semesters.
Out of the 126 credit hours, 20 credit hours comprise University courses, 93 credit hours of programme core courses, 6 credits of Programme Elective courses and 7 credits of Industrial Training.
The students of this programme will learn on but not limited to Principles of Measurement, QS Practices in Construction, Digital Construction, Project Management Principles, Building Economics, Construction Legal Studies and Construction Business and Development.
