Established in 1996, this program aims to produce graduates in the field of real estate who are professional, holistic, balanced and ethical, able to perform real estate consultancy effectively and able to face technical and management challenges in the national and global context. The Bachelor of Real Estate has received accreditation from local and international bodies particularly Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia (BOVAEP) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) United Kingdom, with input from the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). As the syllabus for the Bachelor of Real Estate received recognition by these professional bodies, this programme is professionally recognised locally and internationally. The recognition enables graduates to have the widest set of opportunities to work in the region and globally. The programme structure comprises a full-time study term of 3½ years, the successful completion of which confers upon the candidate a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate.
There is a high demand for qualified real estate professionals and the diverse career opportunities in the real estate sector.
Graduates from this programme will be able to pursue a wide variety of successful career paths, typically encompassing work for real estate consultancies, property developers and property investors such as pension funds and insurance companies. Many of our graduates have public sector positions in local and central government departments/agencies that either hold significant real estate or provide real estate services. The larger public limited companies (PLCs), multinational companies and other substantial property occupiers also need professional expertise to manage their corporate real estate interests.
*Upon graduation and in order to be a Registered Valuer, the candidate is required to accumulate a further 2 years of practical professional experience under the supervision of a Registered Valuer before sitting for the Test of Professional Competence (TPC) conducted by BOVAEP. Prior to this, the candidate is required to be provisionally registered with the Board during this entire period of training. Being an accredited programme by the BOVAEP, the graduate of the Bachelor of Real Estate is eligible for direct registration with the Board as Probationary Valuer (PV) or Probationary Estate Agent (PEA).
