Welcome to the Faculty of Built Environment at the Universiti Malaya.
The faculty has a rich tradition of academic excellence and research over the past 20 years of its existence, in providing higher education in design, building, and planning related fields. Our aim is to provide learning experience and produce global professionals that are capable of making a difference in serving building and construction industries.
Currently, we offer five (5) undergraduate and six (6) post graduate programs that are relevant to the local and international market needs. All programs are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifying Agency (MQA) and respective Professional Boards in Malaysia. In addition, some of the programs are also accredited by the renowned international professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), UK, The Royal Institution of British Architects (RIBA), UK, and the Project Management Institute (PMI), USA. The programs cover a wide range of theories to practical aspects through various learning strategies led by experts in their fields.
Moreover, the programs are also designed with the aim to equip students with the latest skills and knowledge, which allow them to achieve the program outcomes. This offers opportunities for students to excel academically and professionally.

To support students’ learning and research activities, the faculty is equipped with access to excellent facilities and resources. We have an online library resource with access to high quality and impactful research publications all around the world. We also promote literacy and education through our own faculty library that provides a wealth of resources including books, prints and other resources related to the built environment field. Moreover, we have a 24-hour student lounge, laboratories and most importantly excellent internet access and infrastructure that allow for Remote Learning (RL) and Open Distance Learning (ODL) classes to be conducted remotely. Additionally, the university also provides many facilities and resources to ensure students have a world-class learning experience.
