Department of Real Estate

OVERVIEW :

The department of Real Estate aims to produce professional graduates who are knowledgeable specifically in the field of real estate.

At the undergraduate level, the Department offers the Bachelor of Real Estate. The program is accredited by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agent, Malaysia, Institute of Surveyors Malaysia and The Royal Institutions of Chartered Surveyors. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for many different careers in property valuation, property management, property development, investment and finance. The course also give them specialised training in real estate valuations, property management, investment analysis of income-producing property, real estate finance, real estate law and real estate development. Students work on projects that involve real- world situations and that require hands-on analysis and creative solutions. During the whole of the final special semester, the students are required to attend an 8-hour, out-of-class training session with the real estate industry, such as governmental and private positions.

At the postgraduate level, the Department offers the Masters in Real Estate by coursework and MSc in Estate Management and Doctor of Philosophy by research. These courses enable those with a first degree in any subject related to real estate the opportunity to enhance knowledge in this real estate field and eventually make a career move to enter the real estate professions.
